Ashley Chapman

6th Grade Teacher

Bio

I’m thrilled to begin my fourth year at Tate Academy as the 6th Grade ELA teacher! I began my time here as a 3rd grade student resident and taught 5th grade last year.

Originally from Sacramento, I have been living in Los Angeles for 2 years and LOVE the city. I studied Journalism at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, on the island of Oahu. I enjoyed hiking, paddle boarding and learning about Hawaiian culture.

After spending five years in Hawaii, I moved back home to Sacramento. There was where I found passion coaching middle school students in volleyball and track & field. Coaching is what brought me into education. I received my Masters in Education and Teaching Credential from the University of the Pacific.

In my free time I enjoy staying active and being outdoors. I’ve recently started playing tennis, which I love. I also love playing volleyball, running and watching the Denver Broncos win games!
